I have some unfortunate news. We sold all of our chickens a couple of weeks ago...went from 23 to 0. :( So sad, but it is the best thing for us right now, we are looking to move out as soon as we can, so we can't take them with us wherever we go. Especially if we want to move up by Weber State.
SAAAD!!! :(
I will post a memorium of all of our recent ones on here hopefully soon!! :)

Mmm..Vacation!
Just got back from vacation! :( Too bad its already over! I'm not ready to go back to work yet, and hubby's not ready to start the new semester tomorrow...(we are reluctant). One weird thing about our vacations is that we don't do anything. We pretty much just relax and enjoy being by ourselves. Also, its funny because its like most people don't do anything all the time, so they go on vacation to do stuff, but we do stuff all the time, so we go on vacation NOT to do anything! Crazy, huh?! And its really dumb, but we really enjoy it! The highlights of our vacation can be summed up in just a few words....Cows, Potato Museum, Legos and Ipod. Yes, you read that right...Cows and Potato Museum. We met with a farmer to take a look at some miniature cows...they're so cute! and we made a side stop at the Idaho Potato Museum, got a shot glass and got to see one of the world's largest potato crisps. Pretty sweet! It was so nice though, just to get away from everything and not have anything at all to worry about or think about or anything...I love vacation! :)
Oh! and I'm officially a licensed title searcher!!! Yeah! :)

Changes
Well, as you can tell, I recently changed the layout of the blog, my chicks were waaay cuter than the ones in the background. I still have to play around with it a little bit, maybe I can figure out how to change the picture to some of my own chickens...We'll see though.
The metal home decor business isn't going as well as we had hoped. But I think we're nearing the end of the season, so we'll see how things go from here.
One of my friends at work is buying her first house! I am very happy for her and very jealous at the same time, but it is very good for her, and I think the house she found should be really good for her! :) Its kind of funny, she is living with her parents too, so we often have the same sort of issues, so its a little easier to complain to her. Congrats!
I'm getting my title license here soon, had to go into get my fingerprints taken last week because I'm a moron and didn't do it when they offered it to me after I took my test. Oh well, its done and I think I'll finally be licensed! Bonus! It should make me a little more valuable at work too, so that's nice.
Well, bedtime! xoxo

Tortillas
I made my first homemade tortillas today...well, sort of. We ended up only making like 7 from a batch thats supposed to make 24, but ours were much bigger, and we deep fried them, and threw away some of the dough (thinking realistically and knowing that it wouldn't get eaten). They ended up more like navajo tacos, er..scones. I decided to cover mine in cinnamon and sugar and have them that way, and hubby had them with chicken and enchilada sauce on them...he said his was okay, and mine, well...amazing of course! You can't go wrong with elephant ears! I had pasta roni instead of the chicken, I am definitely a pasta lover, thats for sure!
Hubby's brother moved out to his own house here a couple of weeks ago (well, sort of, he still comes by quite often). We're pretty jealous of him. And also, hub's mom and dad are gone all week on vacation (at least until they come home early, if they do)! Sooooo....we have the house to ourselves!! YAY! Let the yelling commence! (not fight-y yelling, fun yelling) However, I half expect his other brother to come, because he usually tends to drop in for a couple of days to visit precisely when everyone else is gone! I'm starting to think its a conspiracy!

Well...
I've been shirking my duties here at this blog, and in place, have been concentrating most of my efforts on the other blog for our "business"... that one is http://heidishomedecor.blogspot.com/
Check it out if you like! We're doing decently well with it, and hopefully things get way better!! We have some possibilities, but more than likely, nothing will come of it! :) Oh well..
As an update to our chicken situation, new batman died the other day...we think he got sick or something, he didn't look very good and wasn't acting normal for a few days before that...It made me pretty sad. We also had one of the brownies die too...we think she got a cold or respiratory issue or something, she wasn't breathing too good several days before, we also think that she was a lot older than the guy we bought them from led me to believe. Mind you, these deaths happened maybe a week or 2 apart, I hope they aren't related in any way.
Also, I took the title insurance exams that were necessary to get my title license! AND...PASSED BOTH OF THEM!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!! Its very exciting!! Now I just have to apply to get my license and I should finally be official! YAY!!
What else...I'm in a dinner/cooking rut. And it really sucks! I have like 30 cookbooks, but I don't use them, but I want to use them, but most of the food in them is unreasonable for us, our tastes, our finances and our situation...Perhaps it would be different in my own kitchen. Doubtful. But maybe...I don't know. I think I just need to go with recipes and foods that we use all the time, and make two 2 week menus...I think that would be best, they will both be slightly different, so we shouldn't get worn out on them. Plus, with a menu like that, we should save a bit on groceries...I swear, when I get home from grocery shopping, you would think that I was feeding a family of 4 or something like that, not just me and my husband! My goodness!
Well, I should go check on the babies (chickies) and gather the eggs. Have a lovely evening! :)

recent events
Got done with our first full event last night! We did okay...about as bad as we expected...Started up a blog for the business, so y'all can take a look at that... it is: http://heidishomedecor.blogspot.com/
We were planning on moving out in August, but that is not going to happen any more...stupid being practical about money! :(
Our last month for our chickens has been pretty poor...we had a dog or something get 2 of the year olds, and one of the other year (or something) olds died the other day. We think she was older than the guy said she was, and she was sick, having trouble breathing and stuff for several days before...Its too bad. But I guess it happens.
Our 16 chicks that we got back on May 13th are doing very well! We think we only have 2 or 3 roosters out of all of them, which are pretty darn good odds! And they are so cute!!!! And getting sooo big!! :) I love them so much! We think we have a couple of sebrights (we thought they were d'uccles before, but they're starting to look like sebrights instead). We have one silver-laced cochin...I've decided to name her abby, she's so cute and so soft! We think that we also have a couple of mottled cochins, but they're not quite what the pictures depict them as, so maybe not, but they are really friendly and are kinda weird, but I'm starting to really like them! We also have a 2 dark cornish chicks...I'm torn about those, I really like their coloring, but I hate the body structure. I still need to take some pictures of them and post them. They're so cool!
Henny and one of the brownies decided that they're gonna set on their eggs...I keep pulling the eggs out, but they've got it in their heads that they're brooding...plus we don't have any mature roosters, so its pointless..silly girls!!

considering
I'm considering medical transcription as a side job... Not sure yet if I am going to or not!
Our first event is in like 2 days, I'm so nervous....well, nervous-excited! I hope it goes decently well, I am trying to keep my hopes low so that when it doesn't go well I'm not too disappointed, but I'm still hoping for the best. If that all makes sense...We still have so much to do, but we're getting close! And putting things in boxes, so we're getting there, gradually! Just trying to figure out the smaller things so that we are prepared! I still have to make some flyers and we still have lots to do.. :) Hopefully its worth it!
